I read an old friends post recently on Facebook and she was in a lot of pain. She said she messed up her back at work and has had a lot of pain since. I posted a comment asking if she has tried massage to help relieve the muscle strain and tension. She stated she had gone to the doctor and they prescribed muscle relaxers. However they were not help the muscles and did nothing for her pain. I suggested I set up for a session at her home and she agreed. When I arrived at her home I could physically see the pain on her face, and how she could look at her surroundings with turning her whole body. In this moment I suspected there could be a deeper issue going on possibly a bulged disc or entrapped nerves. I focused mainly within the neck and shoulders. Trying to alleviate some of the chronic tension I felt, which i was happy to see it did give some relief and more range of motion within the neck and head. However she still had a lot of pain. So I suggested she get imaging done and see if there is something more going on. She followed up with her doctor and found out she has disc degeneration, they suggested she continue to recieve massages. I also suggested she try seeing the chiropractor I work with to realign the spine and help it unwind. I look forward to seeing the changes with our continued collaboration and hope she is back to normal daily functions soon.
